Oooo I never though of doing chicken and dumplings for thanksgiving!!!! That is like one of my favorite foods!! That was my plan to, to go ahead and get things ready so the turkey can have the oven..you know how greedy them birds can be. I wonder if i make my sweet potato casserole today if it will be kind of "watery" tomorrow...so I am still undecided...

Girl I want some collards!!!!   LOL (for real)  I was thinkg about that too, carrot cake PLUS the pumpkin pies tonight.... then uhhhhhhh... somehow... mac pie, turkey/dressing, --- corn, grn beans, and taters wont be in the way..... its just the whole HOURS thing with the turkey.

I do think you are right though.... SW.POT. CASS ( I think will be watery)  Wonder if we can SLAP that BIRD in the oven 1st thing in the am... then our SW. Taters, and mac pie in afterwards....???

Someone told me earlier that they are cooking their turkey on low all night tonight....depending on the size you might could do that...if you stay up late put the bird in about midnight on low and it should be good to go in the morning...then throw the others in the oven. I have a 10 lb bird for only us 3 so I am putting it in first thing in the morning....then I guess while its cooking ill prepare the sp casserole and green bean casserole....my greens are almost done and mmm they taste so good already so you know they will be even better tomorrow once they sit and soak overnight....mmmmmmm
