Hey Everyone,
this is some random thoughts I'm having. We have had a rough few years. Hubby quit his job due his boss not paying him and now is in the process of finding a job. We live with my father b/c our home was forclosed on 2 years ago. We have 5 beautiful children ages ranging from 14 to 4. Our 7 year old was diagnosed w/autism when he was 2 years old. This year we cant afford to give the kids a christmas like we have done in the past. We have been contacted by a charity that would like "help" us out. While we really could use the help, I feel guilty about accepting it. There are families that need it much more then we do. but at the same time I would like to have my kids enjoy their holiday and would really appreicate everything. I dont know what to do??? Should I accept the help?? Any advice would be greatly helpful!
thanks~tracy

Tracy, Hi I came across your story and I have to say from experience that its tough recieving from others, years ago when we had a dairy and things were horribly bad we recieved a wonderful gesture one Thanksgiving afternoon. While we were out in the barn milking and fighting everything that was goin wrong, a wonderful family we know went into our home and layed out the most marvelous Thanksgiving meal for us and then left as quietly as they came. My first reaction was anger believe it or not, my pride was at stake, and then the feelings of guilt, because afterall there were others who were so much more diserving of this glorious meal then came the Thankfulness that consumed my heart. Over time and exceptance I have come to learn the statement of "in the eyes of the beholder, if someone wants to help you except it and along with that will come a amazing outcome ...you just wait and see. Take care

I'm sorry that you & your family have been having a tough time- Of Course, you should take the Help- Let go of your guilt- maybe, you could gather a few of toys or out-grown clothes from each of your kids & all of you go donate them to Goodwill- Everybody will feel good about the holidays- Wishing you lots of luck in the New Year:)
