Talked to my midwife.

After discussing all our options, we've decided that since the baby is measuring so small, and I have a proven pelvis with a posterior baby with a 14 inch head, she feels comfortable allowing me a trail of labor with a breech until 43 weeks...

If I can't push her out,we'll drive the 5 minutes to the hospital and get a c-section, but we'll at least let her try to come out vaginally.

My body's on the verge of labor. Were just going to sit back and wait for it to happen at this point.

I'll be 39 weeks on wednesday, and I have to say, I was feeling like I was on a time clock trying to get her out by 39 weeks in order to avoid a c-section for her getting "too big to fit".... (which is what the hospital doctors tried to scare me with.)

Due to her size, and my proven pelvis, I think we will be fine and she won't get too big.

My son measured in the 50% or higher his entire gestation, while she's measured 25% and below.... and my fundal height is a lot smaller with her.. (despite all ultrasounds saying she's grown just fine compared to her previous growth scans.)

So we aren't worried about her not growing properly, she's just little.

At 42 weeks, if I haven't had her, I will schedule my c-section for 43w and 1d... at that point, I'm not sure I'll have any other options, but at least by then, i'll know we tried everything to ensure a vaginal delivery and I won't feel like I was too impatient and just had a c-section to get it over with....

By then, I think i'll be able to wrap my brain around it, and not feel so hostile, and also arrange to have help after the surgery for the recovery process. lifting a new born after major surgery isn't going to be fun.... :(

But, my midwife bought us some time.... If the baby had grown ginormous, she might not have been so comfortable with it, but in her words "she's a peanut, she'll fit."

Now, i'm just going to try to get over this blasted cold i've acquired. sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose... fun stuff! LOL

I too avoided a c-section, even after 48 hours of labor...  Thanks to my wonderful, skilled and patient doctor,---Dr. Richard Wilterdink,---AND, my stubborness...

I had a healthy 6 pound girl.  fingers crossed

I've been wondering how you've been doing. It's amazing that now she isn't wanting to come out, hehehe

It'll happen, you just keep staying strong!

I've been silently following your progress- you don't know me or anything....but I've had two c-secs and lifting a newborn afterwards- not so bad, really.  I had no problems, and in fact three days later I was out of the hospital and walking around Toys-r-us trying to buy stuff... Just make sure your pain is controlled- don't be stoic- take the meds when prescribed, you will heal faster that way because you won't be tense....

(But all that's assuming you have a c-sec...) Good luck!

Thanks for the update, I'm not in your group but started reading it and was wondering how you were doing.  I had to type in search for breech birth to find you. Hang in there she will come when she is ready.
