I walk Into work leaving all my troubles at the door. As I enter, everyone elses problems become my own. I head up the stairs to check each room (my usual morning routine) and what do I see? Mom #3 laying in bed, in a deep sleep due to the high from last night. In the corner, baby Makayla sits in a puddle of urine and feces. How long was she sitting there? 1-2 hours maybe. So what do I do? I give baby a bath, dress her and feed her. The entire time Struggling in my mind if I should call children services. Or should I just take over and care for the baby when I’m here. But then reality sets in. I won’t always be here…I hate these situations.

I would report this incident for the sake of the baby and her mom, too.

I did. legally I'm mandated to report all incidents.  Its just not something you want to see first thing in the morning. In the end what really bothers me is that the shift before mine obviously didn't do a room check. anything could have happened. I'm just really disgusted right now.

Wow, you have a tough job.  Those things are very hard to see.  I would probably be balling my eyes out.
