I thought it was a good thing for a lil while, cuz it gave me a lil time to clean or have time to myself.. but all he wants to do now is watch t.v.--- Think maybe I need to cut back on how much he watches...? Maybe just after luch for nap time... & maybe when it is time for bed... Has anyone went through this? & what did you do?

First off..  How old is your son?  You never mentioned that.  And second You are the parent you say when the TV can be turned on or turned off.   If your child is older have him earn tv time.  I am guessing your child is younger and with a younger child its simple.  Unplug the thing and give him something else interesting to do.  Go buy a book I have one called 365 days of creative play.  My 18 month old and I just opened it this weekend.   I had it from when my son was little.   Play with him get him building blocks or reading books but your the parent...  Turn the tv off and when you need a few minutes to cook dinner or what not then turn it on.  I use it as a reward for my 12 year old....

Just turn it off and give him something else to do :-) Give him books to look at, put him in his high chair with a piece of paper and crayons, let him occupy himself in his room... let him  have a chance to use his imagination :-)  You could let him watch tv for a bit in the morning (a favorite cartoon) and before bed (with the family).

navyjen, where did you find that book? I can't find it anywhere!

He is 2, but he has a older brother that asks & asks his dad over & over till he gets wat he wnts & I think he is rubbing off on him.. He asks me to watch tv, so I suggest something else or say no & he just keeps saying "no, watch tv"  & it has only gotten really bad the last 2days...

I wouldn't do tv right before any type of sleep...

Unplug it, and find other things to do. Maybe even go a week without any tv what so ever.  :)

When you unplug it, say "oh, it looks like it's not turning on.." even let him try to "turn it on".. then go about doing something else. :)

That sounds good a week without tv.. navyjen I know I can say no & tell him when I want the tv on, but I wanted other moms tips or neat activities to interest him so there is no fit or me haveing to put him in time out, I want him to want to try something new for entertainment, & only want t.v when he is tired..
