I have struggled with my weight since childhood. I am big boned which I am fine with. But right now I am 5'4" and 213 and borderline diabetic. Which means that I am not diabetic YET but if I don't do anything about it soon I will become diabetic. Now knowing that and being unhappy with my look; I just can't seem to do anything about it. I just feel tired all the time and not motivated to do anything about it. But today I am making a stand and am asking for words of encourgement and tips that I could do that will help me get on the right track. Now I am asking for small tips right now just to get me started. I am ready to make a change and with your help I believe I can get my butt kicked in gear and hopefully get my life on track.

I do not have any friends where I live so I am hoping to get some responses even if there little suggestions. Whatever it is I will try it.

My number 1 "small to start" tip is to DRINK WATER!  I too am on a weight loss journey. I finally had enough. To say I'm taking baby steps is an understatement, but the scale and my pants size are going down. In March of 2008 I weighed 217 and today I weigh 169! I would love to be your weight loss buddy!!! The best part about losing the weight slow is that it stays off and it's easy! Good luck on your journey. Can you pick up a weight loss video, either biggest loser or Leslie Sansone is a good walking video to get you started? Or just stand in place and "walk" for 5 minutes.

Some things to remember:

nothing tastes as good as skinny feels

eat less move more

you need to do this for yourself, not anyone else. Have your kids be your motivation. it may sound disturbing, but im sure you want your kids to see a healthy mama not a sick one. Thats what motivated me to do what I did. It wasnt the fact of "being skinny", it was health factors...

Drink at least one full glass of water before you sit down for a meal.

Chew slowly.

Eat Slowly.

Never eat in front of the TV

Only weigh yourself once a week, same day, same time, in the morning.
