The menu for tomorrow's fondue party:

Cheese course

A mix of three cheeses (extra sharp cheddar, fontina and gruyere) with a nice Riesling as the base. For dippers, I have a loaf of fresh French bread and a rosemary potato bread, in addition to califlower, zucchini rounds, baby carrots, broccoli and mushroom caps.

Meat course

We have chicken to be cooked in oil with a selection of BBQ or honey dijon dips. Also, we have thin cut sirloin to be cooked in a Cabernet-infused home made beef broth. To accompany, we have new red potatoes that will be slightly steamed so that people won't need to wait for them to cook forever.

Chocolate course

The fondue will be a mix of semi-sweet chocolate, cream and rum (just a tablespoon! & with a dash of vanilla). Dippers include bite sized brownies, sliced pear, strawberries, banana disks and marshmallows.

This is a family event. The children will be welcomed to try the cheese course (although no one expects them to like it). As the cheese course winds down, the children will retire to the TV room with their freshly baked calzones so that the adults can enjoy a bit of the evening on their own! It should be a pretty fun night.
