Wikileaks which released the famous video which captures an American helicopter killing journalists and shooting at children has released hundreds of documents from the military which show the truth of the wars committed with trillions of dollars of hard earned American taxpayer money. 

They began releasing information some months ago and now they are releasing more information in the next weeks or months.

I think next month they are releasing some information on corruption in a giant bank.  That should be interesting.

While employment benefits expire, while jobs are shipped abroad, while our tax money is given away to BP and banks and other oil comapnies and etc etc, while Americans bare the brunt, while American children watch their parents walk off into senseless war zones, as children in other countries are bombed with WMDs that we let our government make and sell and use on the masses, we need to know what is going on and these leaks provide a peak into it all:

They have been following the wikileaks story for a long time.  democracynow.org, unlike most other news organizations is not funded by corporations or the government.  They do not answer to advertisers.  Their task is to harbour truth and stand up to power. 

Why do we have a democratic system of voting and free speech?  We do not, so that we can stand around and sing hippy love songs in our underwear but to speak truth to power, to protect our journalists from harm so that they can do their jobs and tell us what the different institutions in our society are up to so that we may hold the officials accountable to wrong doing and corruption to keep power in check so that the people ultimately have the power.

The wars in Afghanistan, the war in Iraq, the war in Pakistan have cost trillions of dollars not to mention millions of innocent lives lost and ruined.  The words do NO JUSTICE.

These leaks reveal that the American government has been dropping bombs on the Yemenese people and that the Yemenese government has promised the American government that they will tell the people that these bombs are Yemenese bombs against terrorists.  During last Christmas about twenty eight children in Yemen were killed in an American drone attack and it was not reported in mainstream media so the American public did not find out what happened to their tax money.

Also, it has been confirmed by the cables released that Saudi Arabian groups are funding Al Quaida.  The Saudis are great friends of the American government.  If you did not know, just in the last few months the largest one time military deal was made between two countries in which the U.S. sold a gigantic amount of weapons of mass destruction to Saudi Arabia.

It has also been released that Saudi Arabia and Israel have been urging the US to attack Iran because they do not want Iran to have nuclear weapons.  There has never been a threat from Iran, yet three of its neigbors have been attacked and millions of people have died and just in the year nineteen eighty, Iraq with the backing of the US, back when the US supported Saddam and sold him cheap weapons to control its own people and kill kurds, Iran did already experience a bloody eight year war, I was there, I saw it, million people died, we escaped...

So, Iran wants no war, it is under threat.  These things need to be revealed.  My gradparents live there, my cousins live there, I do not want to find my cousins and their children and poor old grandparents and all the people there to be under attack.  I don t want to see another Pakistan where to this day the US continues to bomb them with drone bombs which are remote control bombs controlled from here in the country, during their worst flood ever in their recorded history.

So there is a lot that the weapons manufacturer, oil, insurance giant, agribusiness funded media is not telling the Americans. As a result the kind compassionate people of this country do not know the atrocities that are committed with their tax money, meanwhile the military industrial complex becomes richer and richer..

Bradley Manning the bravest American soldier I have ever heard of, saw that in his job he was required to interrogate and imprison people whose only crime was to write about the doings of the government, people who the government as a result witch hunted and called terrorists and he saw that this was wrong and he told his superiors and they told him to shut up and go back to work and he found it wrong in his conscience and so he took it upon himself to sneak all of these classified information in the form of copying it as if he was listening to a Lady Gaga cd and took it all to wikileaks which protects the identities of whistleblowers.  Bradley Manning confided in someone,  a hacker whom he apparently trusted and was caught.  He is in solitary confinement and is being tortured in the US at the moment.  Daniel Ellsburg who is the most famous whistleblower in the US and who released the Pentagan papers which lead to the end of the Vietnam war and was once called the most dangerous man in America by the American government and press, is helping Assange, the wikileaks founder and is raising money for Bradley Manning s defense.

I'd gladly provide shelther, aiding and abetting to Julian Assange...and I'm contributing to Bradley Manning's defense fund.

Because I'm a patriotic American, that's why.

Thanks ladies for making comments.

One note I want to make about the first comment which states that it is sad what America has done, encompasses much more than just that statement in that first we must keep in mind that although the leaders would like us to believe that we are different and that we are a nation of people who do things to other people, that first we are human and then we are other idenity categories such as gender, race, nationality, etc.  We are human and some of us went and killed some others and some of us turned our heads and pretended not to see.

Now it is time to focus on them.  We must use political language such as stating that: Yemen and American governments have conspired to cover up civilian deaths, which by the way is true, but we must remember and state that we are all human and the bloodshed must stop today everywhere.

America should not be ashamed because Ameirca also encompasses every person who lives on her soil.  There are children left behind because their parents choose to go fight in wars, there are  children left with nothing to eat in this country because the country's resources are being funneled into the war machine to the tune of 12 billion dollars a month just for two wars. 

It is ridiculous how remote control bombs called drones are being sent and dropped on the tops of people's heads on a weekly and daily basis everywhere.  And who pays fo this in blood, rape, and misery?

We must speak up and spread the fire of knowledge everywhere.  Once it catches on, there is no stopping it.
