Memories

Easter

"For unto you is born, this day, in the city of David, a Saviour, who is Christ the Lord.

Sometimes we get so tied up in shopping, gift giving and getting we forget the reason we celebrate Christmas: Christ Jesus Birthday.  I hope as you hurry through this season, you'll pause a moment to thank God for the birth of his Son, Jesus.  In our church we have a birthday party for Jesus, with a cake and refreshments to remind us of of the reason for the season.

Santa Clause, which comes under the heading of Christmas, is for children.  And with that in mind, I'd like to share a memory of Cheri's (ToadilyPeachy) first Christmas.  She was only 6 mths old, and really too young to know what was going on.  So "Santa" brought her a "lifelike" doll.  It has soft, lifelike, vynal "skin", that felt almost like a real baby, and was about the size of a 7 lb. baby.  You could push a button on it and it slowly moved, like a baby stretching.  Cheri loved it.  It stayed in the crib with her.  But my Granny hated it.  She would say, "get that thing out of that crib!"  I can't stand to look at it!"  "It looks too much like a real baby."  She did everything she could to get me to throw the doll away.  LOL  But I wouldn't, because Cheri loved it.

Merry Christmas, Cheri!  Thanks for the memory!
