Seriously, some of this is being too much fun for the position we are in. Yup, we are homeless. One of the many ranks of those washed out by the tide of the receding economy. No SUV city for us though since we are careless as well (see car crash journal that started this trek) No I don't mean "homeless" like "oh we are staying with family till we get on our feet" or " our mortgage is behind a few months and we are waiting for the bank note", I mean homeless as in we are staying in a shelter with people that normally sleep on he side walks during the summer and most of the people around us have mental problems that keep them from holding a steady job or making a life for themselves. Shoot, that sounded kind of sad. Anywho... these people and their antics are really starting to create some interesting stories to tell, at least the ones that aren't well behaved, like the Cajun drunk that constantly gets thrown out of the cosgrove for whispering sexual things into the ears of the little old ladies that are there. But most are rather nice and friendly. In fact most of them have taken it upon themselves to make sure that the wee ones are taken care of and constantly spoil them with candies or pastries.
I've noticed something within this journey that is missing from the bigger picture of America at large, and that is community. It doesn't matter what race you are, or why you are there, but that you have people around you that do give a flap jack about you. See some of these people don't have families or have been deserted by them because their family doesn't want to deal with the person's problems . Well, my computer time is up at the library, but I could talk volumes on this subject. See you when I do.

I am with you. I get physically sick I read about people saying that homelessness is just laziness and not their problem. When is our fellow man not our problem? We went from community to focus on just their family. I remember reading up on cultures in the past that made raising children a community effort.
Or if someone was down and out that the church was there to lift them up. Now it is just venomous fangs dripping with toxic words like lazy. It seems the world has forgotten what community is about.
If people wanted informed opinions on the subject they should spend some time down at a homeless shelter or a unemployment office.
I did. I spent 3 hours in line for one question and they only had 2 people staffed at the front. Lines leading out the front door waiting for computer time and job leads. Job fairs filled to the brim with people looking for work only to be told to apply online. And it is heart breaking.
Robyn, you are such an amazing person. I simply don't have the words to express what I'm feeling for you right now.
You deserve such a great life. I hope you've hit bottom and that things start to improve for you and your family.
You are such a strong, amazing person Robyn. <3 I hope that things start looking up soon for you.
Robyn, your family is in our heart and prayers. You are so strong and such a blessing to your children. Like Jackie said, "you deserve such a great life." ((hugs))
Robyn, thank you for sharing that story. Some of us don't realize how blessed we are to be in the position we are in. You are very courageous and positive and that will get you a long way. I pray for you and your family this holiday season and wish you the best of luck. God bless you.
Love you Robyn. I so wish I could swoop in and save you from all of this. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayers.

We love you, Robyn. I think of you very often and I wish I knew how to make this turn around for you very quickly. You are going through something you have to be incredibly strong to endure, and so we know you are going to make it in one piece. Love you and your babies.
