A year of getting out of DEBT

This is the year for my family!! My husband has been blessed with a job that has more than doubled our yearly income. Our debt includes a credit card balance of about 6,500.00, A vehicle loan of about 6,600.00, and a mortgage.  Our goal this year is to pay off the cc and vehicle loan and start paying on the principle of our mortgage. We have also decided to destroy all credit cards and shop with cash alone. We are following the Dave Ramsey plan and already have the 1,800 in our emergency fund. We are already following a budget to some extent ( working on tweaking it and staying with in the limits set) I am currently working on eating out of our 3 freezers that are full to the top. If I can become creative enough over the next month I should only need to purchase eggs bread and milk for the next month. Because there are only 3 of us home usually ( older to children live with father and aren't here only on weekends and every other week during summer) I would like to empty on freezer and sell it. We should be able to survive on 1 chest freezer and the fridge freezer.  Thus lowering our electric bill. 

I also have a shed full of items to sell on ebay from a business I tried that went totally wrong. Has anyone ever heard of SMC?  I have over 3,000 worth of there stuff ready to be sold on ebay, I'm just not sure how to go about it. The whole shipping thing throws me for a loop. I hope to get it all figured out soon and start getting the items moving.

 

Since writing this post we have paid off the credit card and the vehicle loan!!!!!We have also started paying down our mortgage. I am happy to say that the only debt we have is the mortgage.  As far as the grocery budget I have been a little crazy with that! I have donated just about all the items in my shed to Relay for life.

that is good i really need to get out of debt.Like the saying says live within your means.I should take that advice and save my money. I like this post. god bless
