If you've read my post "Mother In-Laws and Their Little White Lies," then you know that my husband's mom has a tendency to get under my skin from time to time.

Well to my surprise, her mom is just like her. She lived in Nicaragua until a few months ago so I'd only been around her a handful of times over the years. She doesn't speak any English except for hi, bye, please, and thank you. Our communication mainly consists of my broken Spanish and her hand signaling. From our conversations, I'd gathered that she was a sweet old lady that didn't talk much, kept her comments to herself and watched Telemundo all day. Well all of my thoughts about her were right except for a few.

Last weekend, she stayed at our house to catch a few parades and I guess you can say that we bonded a little. That Friday, I was in the kitchen frying up some of my famous chicken wings and that's when I got my first taste of the sweet old lady's spiciness. She kept insisting that I was burning the chicken! I just kept doing what I was doing, and pretended not to understand what she was saying. I guess she was tired of watching it "burn" because she grabbed the cooking spoon and started removing the chicken herself O_o ! BTW, the food was NOT burning! How is she going to come in my kitchen, and tell me how to fry my wings? Do I go to her house and tell her how to make tortillas???

There were several other things that happened, but all-in-all (what does that mean anyway??) she is a really sweet lady, and she's nowhere near as bad as my mother in law. She just rubbed me the wrong way when she took over my chicken. I don't like anyone over me stove but me.
