I'm frustrated with my kids doctor right now just went for my older two yearly visit and they listen and worried about the concerns for my oldest. However when I was tell them about my concerns and his grandmother (who had him with her for about a month) concerns about my other son they didn't care cause he wasn't in school yet. He's 5 years old and couldn't tell them shapes or colors and lacked some other things that my other son could do and they said they should be doing at that age. Should I be concerned? It frustrates me it seems like I'm only have problems when it comes to him don't know if that's cause he's my oly healthy one or not but it's really bugging me but I can't change there doctors at this min. cause its review time for there insurance. I don't like feeling like my concerns are being ignored.

I am sorry you have to go through this.  My youngest son had the same types of issues, I am not saying by any means when I tell you my story that your son has the same.  When he entered kindergarten he was far behind the rest of the students and did not catch on at the pace they expected.  The school started the special service testing, he was found to have ADHD and various learning disabilities.  We were very blessed for them to have found them in kindergarten.  My oldest son was in 5th grade before they found his, he struggled for a very long time before they would listen to our concerns.  We found out two very important things during that process. First, if you request a review in writing the school district must do the testing, free of charge to you.  In many places this is available for early childhood programs as well.  Second, you are in charge of every single decision for your child.  The school cannot force you to place your child in any programs that you do not want him in.  And if you believe that something is not right, keep pushing!  As parents, we know out kids best, do not let anyone let you doubt yourself.

Good Luck!
