Born on April 5, 1994 at exactly 1 pm in the afternoon, weighing 10 lbs 2 oz, she came into this world as my 3rd child, second daughter. Her older sister and brother loved to play with her and teach her new things. Her favorite toy was her Jack in the Box (and strangely that's her favorite place to eat at now lol) and she was Mama's Little Girl. Throughout her childhood Kayla was very advanced for her age. She was ahead of everyone in her class from the start of preschool all through 7th grade. When she was 14, things got bad between me and her dad. We eventually resolved it, but Kayla started to rebel because of feelings that we didn't love her because we constantly bickered. Her freshman year of HS she was pregnant. The father didn't want anything to do with her or the baby, and cut off all contact with her when we had to move a few towns away. In July, Logan James Cook was born. From the moment he was born he was the center of Kayla's and my world. This changed Kayla completely...her grades came back up, she's happy again and understands that me and her father's issues had NOTHING to do with her, but I do regret it to this day.

Now today, April 5, 2011, my baby girl turned 17. She'll be starting car repair classes at Votech next year, and little Logan will be 2 this July. She now has a boyfriend that loves her and her son completely. He respects her and reminds her everyday how beautiful and special she is. She's off to a great future.

My point of writing this isn't one of those "teen mom" stories. It's just about my baby and reflecting back on what she's done and what she is today. Happy Birthday to Kayla!
