You were great darlin. DD cried until she was about 5. She would NOT be quiet. And the only reason she cried is because she wanted us to sleep in her room or to sleep in our room. We did not co-sleep with her ever (Unless she was sick). So its not like it was something she expected. But if I didn't CIO I would have gone insane! The only thing we could do is let her CIO for a bit then go in and sooth her and leave again. Eventually she grew out of it.

I saw it, Ellen. I'm on the other side of "the war" as the reporter put it, but good job on the interview regardless. :)

I have nothing nice to say about advocation of the harmful practice of "cry-it-out," especially on young babies. At least The Stir's Michelle Zipp and Child Psychologist Dr. Balter were wonderful!

Ellen, wonderful job!  You're such a great interview!  *wink*  I've voted your post popular...it's nearly a reflex now, since it's my feeling everyone should enjoy some of your wit & wisdom...& also your books!  *wink*

just now watched..

WOW, that "HOST"ess was a lil high strung for me.. sheesh...

I love you Ellen!! i do!! but i wasnt a CRY IT OUT MOM and i am NOT a supporter of it for babes younger than a year...  but i also made the CHOICE to stay home with my kids and raise them and had the luxury of being able to soothe and cuddle with my babies all night long if i needed to...

but i did think you did FABulous , Ellen!! :)
