I recieved a letter this morning stating my child failed her test for the gifted and talented. At first I broke the new to her, she was a little upset but it didnt really seem to bother her. After dropping off at school I got really sad about it we practices and explained what this test would do for her in the future. Did i put to much pressure on her to do well? Is this my fault I feel so horrible.

Not at all, Mama.  This is not your fault.  That is great it doesn't bother her.

You know, there are plenty of things you can do outside of school that will cultivate a love of learning and will encourage a relationship between you and her, visiting educational and cultural places around the community...You can also encourage more of a love of reading!!!!!

As for the future...a test is only a very tiny piece of the picture.  Her motivation to learn for herself has far more impact than you can ever imagine...!!!!!! :)
