Uh Oh..! Just so U kno they can be real snippy towards kids from what I've experienced and they also have to be kept groomed. I have also heard they get allot of ear infections. Sorry for the bad news. I know their not all that way but that's what Ive seen and heard.

puppies are a TON of work!! Go to a shelter and get a "teenage" dog that is already house trained and past the annoying puppy chewing stage.

Puppies can be fun. And if you only have one, they're pretty easy to potty train. Any dog can be snippy... it's better she's getting a baby one to grow with her kids... less of a snippy chance... you can do it though mama, I love having puppies around

Apr. 15, 2011 at 9:20 AM Having a puppy is like having another baby. Cockers are fairly high maintenance in regards to grooming and its not cheap. For your sake (and your wallets) brush that dog twice a week. Any breed with hanging ears are prone to ear infections. Housebreaking the key is being consistent(google for what way will work best with your family). All puppies are snippy and their puppy teeth are sharp..word to the wise it may be cute when it nibbles on the feet or clothes but it wont be so cute 6 months from now so nip that in the bud. Its great its 11 weeks old(if its from a breeder), anytime he/she nips nibbles on you or the girls make like a loud high "ow!" Oh and of course no matter what your family says or swears..it will be YOU taking care of the dog lol

#1 biting dog.......Cocker Spaniel! This is not saying that all cocker spaniels will bite but you have to be tough on your training. Good luck dogs are great. Like said above I would hit up a shelter and get a young dog for your family :0)

If your not sure your ready for a dog then your probably not. Any dog can be nippy especially puppies. As mentioned all dogs with ears that flap over are prone to ear infections and cockers require a lot of grooming. Don't expect your kids to take care of the dog. The adults of the household will which means you! If you can't handle it, get some other pet thats lower maintenance. Try a fish first.

If you aren't 100% committed to getting this dog than don't!  It isn't fair to the dog to be brought into a house with people that don't want it 100%  It would be terrible for you to get it then want to re-home it later.  Do not get this dog or any dog until you can handle it.  There are already enough dogs looking for a forever home, don't add to the burden.
