Well, this is a tricky one...  Some people feel they should spend nothing, while others may spend way too much.

Truth is ~ if you want to start a business from home, then you are going to have to spend something.  The best thing to do is to set a budget that is within your financial means.  Next, I would recommend investing some $ in your own education and self development.  Now, there are some great places on the internet to get Free information/training ~ But ~ you will still want to invest in self development books and dvd's/cd's.  Reading/listening/watching can not only get you educated, but help keep you in the right frame of mind to keep things moving along.

Just a few books and/or dvd's I would recommend ~
The Secret ~ book or dvd
    The Slight Edge
    The Power of Focus

    Think and Grow Rich
How to Select a Network Marketing Company
    The Compound Effect
The Business of the 21st Century
And the list could go on and on and on...

One thing I would not invest in is Buying Leads.  You may find some great places to purchase leads, but the ones that are most worth your time are going to be more expensive.  The best way to get qualified leads is to generate them on your own ~ which will take more time, but well worth it in the end.

Time and consistent effort is going to be your biggest investment in building your home business.  Just think ~ if you were  to start a business outside of the home ~ offline ~ what would your investments be??  Rent, utilities, licenses, merchandise, employee wages, etc.  It is going to take a very long time before you see a profit.  When you invest a small amount of money to educate yourself and a small amount into the home business company of your choice ~ along with your time and consistent effort ~ then you will be turning a profit in no time at all.

Take your time ~ educate yourself ~ not only on Network Marketing, but also on the company you are looking to join.

May all your dreams come true!!
