I'm so bored.  I was so freaking tired today and feeling sick (woke up with a swelled up throat and feeling bleh) that I laid down for a nap around 2pm.  Woke up and it was 5pm!  Geesh.  Of course, now it's almost 11pm and I'm wide awake.  Watching Stargate DVDs to keep entertained.

anyway, in the mail I recieved this update newsletter from my old high school.  It's fun to read and in the back they list all the weddings, births and deaths that people submit.  I like to look at the baby names.  You can totally tell the school has a majority Irish background (founded by an Irish nun and in a predominantly Irish neighborhood of Chicago...or was).

These are the names from this issue:

Jillian Erika
Claire Therese
Trenton Louis
Lilia Irene
Allison Ann
Kate Marie
Elise Helen
Sean Anthony
Joseph Douglas
James Alfred
Gianna Rose
Nora Jane
George Edward
Nicholas Anthony
Anna Faith
Jack Logan (that would be my little Jack)
Nora Marita
Maggie Rose
Sadie Elizabeth
Daniel Patrick
Gina Rosa
Nara Grace (wonder if that was supposed to be Nora...they misprinted Jack's birthday so...)
Gabriella Ann
Faith Fiona
Taylor Elizabeth
Tyler John
Kailana Braelyn
Lindsey Kelly Marie
Madelyn Claire
John Lucas
Benjamin Xavier
Jason Jr.

I like all of them.

This is interesting.  I enjoy seeing different names.

I find it fascinating to see what people name their kids.  What I like about the newsletter is that the births are broken down by the year the mom (it was an all-girl school) graduated.  So the names at the top of the list belong to moms that are in their late 30s-early 40s.  The ones at the bottom gradauted in 2000 (5 years after me).  Sometimes there are even younger moms on the list and it's interesting to see the naming trends between the age groups.

The older moms usually have more traditional names and the younger moms have the trendy ones but every once in awhile something different pops in there.  I have these newsletters going back years.  I started getting them after I graduated and saved a lot of them.  I forgot to change my address, though, when we moved from PA to IL back in 2007 so didn't get them for 3 years.  I missed so many births.  All 5 of my kids were posted in there which made me all sorts of giddy when I was younger, lol.

The one that really caught my attention was Taylor Elizabeth.  I had to chuckle a little.  I used to work at a newspaper and loved to read the names in the birth section.  There were always some funny ones.  Those are actually good, though, and nothing to make you shocked that someone would come up with the name for their kid.
