Adding a family pet

I'm looking forward to June because my husband and I have finally agreed that now is a good time to add a dog to our family.  We have picked out a little shih tzu puppy and we will be going to visit her when she's a little older just to make sure that she will be the perfect puppy for us and then we will go back when she's 8 weeks old to get her.  I know it's going to be some work to take care of both of my girls (ages 5 and 1) and housebreak and train a puppy but I know that with enough time and patience we can really have a well-behaved and fun dog as part of our family.  I am already so excited about June and April isn't even over yet!
