Hello and welcome!

If you've stumbled across my journal I must let you know in advance I don't post all that often in here, but I would like to give you some background on who I am Smile

I'm Court, well, Courtney, but I go by Court, I'm 30 years old and this is our first baby.  I met my husband Jason in college in a chemistry lab, we started dating and then we got married.  I'm from a very, very tiny farming and ranching town.  We're so small we're considered a village, we don't have stoplights, we have train tracks, a post office, and two gas stations.  We play six man football and we're active in the FFA.  I grew up on a small horse farm.  Hubby on the other hand grew up in a small town, he considers it small, lol, and his parents were military, they divorced when he as 8 and he spent his teen years in that small town in NY, playing video games and hanging out with friends.  He loves scg-fi and comic books.  Now you see where the Redneck and the the Geek come in lol.

It wasn't until September of 2010 that we actually started trying to get pregnant.  We had some on and off moments of trying the four years before, but never serious, lots of things changing and happening in our families and our lives and we just weren't ready to be parents at that time.  In 2010 we decided we were ready it took a year and a half for us to get pregnant. We are both overweight and we both working out and eating differently and just trying to be healthy in general and our Doctor told us that if we tried for a year and were dedicated in that trying and then we still weren't pregnant then she would discuss fertility concerns with us.  At the time I was bit angry about that but it turns out that Jason and I just weren't getting the timing right, it wasn't until we bought a fertility monitor that we got what we wanted.  Three months wtih the fertility montior and lo and behold we had our wish granted Grin

The funny thing is that the week before I found out I had scheduled a Doctor's appointment to see our doctor about being able to get pregnant.  I was late the next week and since Jason and I had lost weight the past two years I was like clockwork, never late, not even by a day, so you would think it would have dawned on me that something was up right?  Nope, I just figured I was stressed out and irritated and that's why I hadn't started, but then I started to have this nagging feeling and I broke down and bougth a test.

I won't bore you with the details, suffice to say that it came up positive right away, didn't even take the full 30 seconds, and this was followed by a string of very unladylike and very Redneck like curse words and then sobbing in joy Grin

And that's it folks, here we are and on the journey of becoming parents for the first time.
