kateandjona's Journal

life ... it's quite a journey ...

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out ...
Because I was not a Communist

Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out ...
Because I was not a Socialist

Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out  ...
Because I was not a trade unionist

Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out ...
Because I was not a Jew

Then they came for me ...

And there was no one left ...

To speak out for me

Such an important day.  Aproximately six million Jewish people were killed during the Holocaust.  Just let that number sink in for a minute.

Six million.

Murdered.

Men, women, and children.

Shot in open air shootings, gassed in the "showers", warehoused in extermination camps where they died through the exceution of disease and malnutrition.

SIX MILLION.

all it takes for evil to prevail is for good men to do nothing.

Thanks for reminding us.

Thank you for sharing, we should never become so complacent that we think WE won't ever be the ones.

Please don't forget there were approximately 15,000,000 altogether who died in the Concentration Camps, for the simple reasons that they either didn't fit the Aryan Race or Disagreed with the nazi propaganda...May God Bless ALL who died during that awful time.
