The Bring Mateo Home  eParty is being hosted by Gena Moore. She is hosting the party to raise money to complete the adoption of her son Mateo. The following information is copied and pasted from the Reese's Rainbow Internation Down Syndrome Orphan Ministry website!

About Gena:

Gena’s house is very very lively. She is engaged to wonderful Tony who has embraced her family as his own. Her beautiful brood consists of Dustin (27) bio, Ashley (25) bio, Quinn (11), Kelsey (7) , and Emma (3) adopted. Dustin and Ashley are all grown up and Ashley has gifted Gena with a gorgeous grandson Bryce (2). And then there is foster baby K who is 4 months old and thriving. Kelsey has RAD and PTSD as well as ADD. Quinn has ADD. Both are in counseling and doing well. Emma was born exposed to drugs but so far is advanced developmentally and shows no signs of any delays. You think that would be enough for anyone. Right? Especially with 2 dogs, 2 cats, 2 parrots and a monkey to go with all the rest! Well Gena has always wanted a large family and after Dustin and Ashley were born, Gena’s doctor advised her not to have any more. So she didn’t. The bio way. But she still desired a large family. So after her 2 oldest were grown and her nest was very very empty, she decided to foster. Enter Quinn (11) Kelsey (7) and Emma (3). All were Gena’s foster kids who were subsequently adopted by her. Each one is special and cherished. But then it happened. She was looking at all the lovely little faces on Reece’s Rainbow and there was Mateo. She knew immediately that he was her son. Never mind that he is miles and miles and quite a bit of money away. In her heart, he is hers.  So she needs to go get her son!

The paperwork is daunting but doable. The money needed is frightening. But still. He is her son. So she will find a way. Mateo has a family here. Complete with brothers and sisters who can not wait to meet him, love him, play with him, show him that he is special and loved. Help them bring him home if you can.

About Mateo:

About Reese's rainbow:

Reece's Rainbow was started in 2004 as an outreach program serving new families with babies with Down syndrome at Northside Hospital in Atlanta, GA.   The nurse who attended me post-partum with Reece, Mrs. Kim Wood, RN, called me one day out of the blue and asked if she could use Reece's name for her hospital service project.  She asked if I would come talk to new families and share everything I have learned with them before they were discharged from the hospital.    I was moved, honored, and terrified.  Would I be able to face a new grieving mother?  Would I be able to HELP and not break down again?  YES.

Since that time, we have met countless numbers of new "colors" of Reece's Rainbow.  We have made so many wonderful friends, and our life has been blessed in a million ways.  Our network of friends and families continues to grow.  But the one constant is REECE…the beauty and innocence that a child with Down syndrome brings to the world is truly one of Divine nature.   God has led me through some very difficult times, but waiting on the other side of that "rainbow" for me was enlightenment, empowerment, compassion, mercy, and a tremendous "calling" to reach out to other children like Reece who were not as fortunate as he to have a loving, supportive family to grow up in.

In 2006, the program expanded to include promoting the international adoption of children with Down syndrome.   By raising money to offer adoption grants on waiting children, we are able to give adoptive families the extra financial help they need to bring a child with Down syndrome home from a miserable existence in overseas orphanages
