Will is now over 4 yrs in remission from his bone marrow transplant that he had when he was 21 months old. He has done really well overall. Nothing to make me think he would relapse. Until yesterday. His school called and said he had a fever. I picked him up and noticed his whole left side of his neck was swollen. I took him to the ER, after 8 hrs we found out that it is an lymph node that is so large. He had lymph nodes removed from that side when he was 11 months old because they would get so big they would press on his airway. We found out his white count was over 30k, it was 35k when he was diagnosed. He had a fever up to 103 while in the ER.
The two options we're looking at right now is either a nasty infection in his lymph nodes or he's relapsed. I meet with his oncologist today and I'm terrified. DH is deployed to Afghanistan right now, so I'm on my own. I'm just so scared of relapse, he fought SO hard the first time around. Keep my buddy in your prayers.
