So here is my birth story for my 2nd DD.
On Thursday May 19th I lost part of my mucus plug.
On Friday night May 27th I lost the rest of my mucus plug, it had bloody show on it.
Woke up Saturday morning at 6am with some pain/discomfort but thats normal. After eating breakfast and being awake for awhile it didn't go away. I think I was having constant back labor and some inconsistent contractions. Waited til hubby woke up and tried to tell him about the pain, tried to tell him I thought I was in labor (I wouldn't know I have never experienced it before, my oldest was an emergency c-section) but he didn't seem to believe me. Like it was an inconvience for the baby to come before my scheduled c-section date of Wed June 1st.
But I packed the diaper bag and my hospital bag and sorta a bag for my 5 yr old in case she had to go to grandmas house. Then I told hubby "fine, don't believe me but Im going to get in the shower now that the bags are packed" and I did. After I got out I sat on the computer for a bit. I got a contraction, he saw me hold my stomach and breathe thru it. I guess this point he decided to take me seriously. The next time I did that he looked at the clock and said "10 min apart, call your doctor"
So I did and I told him Geoff said they were 10 min apart, and he told me to go into the hospital to be checked. So I called my parents to come watch Serenity and when they got here we left for the hospital. By the time we got there and I was starting to get chcked out, I realized it had been like 30 min and I had not had a contraction.
There was talk of it being "false labor" or possibly a bladder infection that was hurting me. After some tests showed that I was 1 cm dialted and a good amount effaced (the nurse didn't give me a % tho) and a test said my water had broken. She called my doc to see what he wanted to do next.......... and I knew it, he didn't want to risk me laboring any farther by myself since my baby is breech and he thought maybe her umbilical cord could come out first or other things could go wrong so he came in to do my c-section.
It was all pretty fast and normal after that since I had been through a c-section before. And AliciaKate was born 5-28-2011 at 2:43pm and she weighed 8 lbs 12 oz and was 21.5" long. I was 38 weeks 6 days along. And so far has not shown any signs of having Hip Displaysia (YAY!)
So now she is 4 days old and doing wonderfully. She sleeps alot and is such an easy easy baby to take care of. My 5 year old seems to be adjusting just fine. I'm still quite sore from my surgery. Its harder to recover while taking care of a newborn because with Serenity she was in the NICU while I recovered. And Alicia is being EBF and so far its going well so I am quite happy with myself about that one. More updates to come.
