A Quick Glimpse

It was enough to nearly kill me, yet it happened suddenly.  Not even looking, not even caring, not even wondering.  Suddenly you appear before my eyes and I'm flushed with red.  You see me and look at me as if you hadn't wasted a second thought on me.  I turned away.  Slightly focused on my order, mostly focused on you.  I see you pass me by in the reflection of the window.  We dare not speak.  I dare not breathe.  In that moment you leave a lingering pain.  The painful reminder of what I had done.  I fell in love with you.
