Hello All!

Now I come here again in a similar situation as before - My whole family and friends know how me and my husband want to adopt - due to illness as a teen - I had to have an early hysterectomy therefore I have never been pregnant and will never birth my own children. I received a call a week ago that a friend of my sister wanted us to adopt her baby - she was due in December had just found out that she was pregnant. I will say her name is Jay- Jay knew us from our many visits with family- also we had help her with her 5yr old daughter and she felt like it would be a perfect match. Jay called me last Saturday and told me that she was going to talk over her decision with the baby father and call me back- I hadn't heard from her until today,( an hour ago)... she started with "Dee I am so sorry", I thought she was apologizing because she had decided to parent the baby and assured her there was no need to apologize and that I would help in any way possible regardless...I then heard her cry - again I am assuring her to not be upset and I would be there for her..... she then told me how after talking to the baby father he expressed how he did not want the baby and how they both were struggling taking care of the daughter they had, she then said he also did not want another man being a father to his children or a mother - he would rather her get an abortion. In short he told her that he would no longer be in the relationship if she either keeps the baby or decided adoption - she explained how she did not want to be alone or a single parent so she had had the abortion- I respect her decision because that is what she chosed to do for her but I can't say I fully understand it- as far as doing what someone else wants in order to be in my life. IDK Sisters .....alot of mixed feelings

How awful, I'm sorry I'd rather be single than be with a man so unsupportive as do force me to abort. Just terrible.
