Hard Topic

Dad's last dr appt wasnt promising.  His arteries have started to close more.  Mom is not quiet about talking about his dr appts around the kids, so I thought they knew after we were there the other day.  I had to have separate conversations with each of the so they knew that he was going back to a nursing home again and that  the last dr appt wasnt good.  My 16yr old DD got emotional but understood.  I told her later that it's ok to cry because I have.  My 13yr old DS and I had a beautiful talk today when were walking the dogs.  He didnt cry, but made it easy to talk about.  That was so good for me since I've been having dreams about dad since mom told me he was going back into the nursing home.  Some are good, some are horrible.

It was a hard conversation to bring up with each of them, but I got through them.  I talked to DS's counselor about if I should even say anything.  She said Matt could talk to them for me, but I decided I should do it.  It was hard, but they made it easy for me.  There are times when my kids amaze me!

Your children do sound amazing! I hope they will be okay.
