Ready For the Beach!

One of the fantastic things about living in this area is that we're just 20 minutes from the beach. I love that. My kids love it. Even my husband, who isn't as much of a beach goer as we are, loves it. 

Last summer in So Cal the weather was... weird. It was like our summer took a summer vacation and we wound up getting only about 3 weeks of beach-going weather, so we only wound up going once all summer. The summer before that we didn't go at all because we had just moved, and my darling husband left ALL of our beach stuff (umbrella, cooler, buckets...) at our old house and I didn't discover it until much later. That stuff is pricey to replace, and it's miserable to go all day, the way we do it, without an umbrella and a cooler full of fruit and water and lunch. I wasn't able to work it into the budget to replace that stuff, so we didn't go.

This summer, however, promises to be a good hot one. The kids have been asking me when we can go. We usually don't go in June because the water is still pretty chilly, so we go after the fourth of July. I'm thinking that on Monday, we might pack it up and take it to coast. Soooo looking forward to it!
