Did our opinions make a difference?  Are they sitting in a bunker somewhere realigning their forces, coming up with a new plan for Journals?

Maybe they are waiting until just before quitting time to make the change. Then they will have overnight before being confronted with us.

Maybe they succumbed to the doomsday forces and the rest of us are God's Chosen Ones....or vice versa. I know! They're lulling us into a false set of security only to nuke our beloved journals section when we're all out for dinner, or sleeping....the stealth attack...
