Ok somewhat rested. Whenever we come back from vacation, I always need a day or two to get back into the city swing and today is the first of those days. I just downloaded my photos and actually have a finished project to show you!
Lovely
aren't they? But if you look closely, you'll see there's a little
mishap. The leafy design doesn't line up on the foot and leg. Lesson
learned - always look to see if there's an errata for a pattern before
beginning especially when you're going upstate where there's no internet
access and no turning back. These are for me and they really are
beautiful so the little misalignment isn't horrible. This was my first
project working with MadelineTosh yarn and it was a dream. Soft and pliant, no splits or knots. I can't wait to start my next project with it!
ETA - These are the Merino Lace Socks by Anne Woodbury which can be found in Favorite Socks 25 Timeless Designs from Interweave.
Here's the next project I started:
They're a pair of Summer Lovin' Socks.
I'm making for my nephew's fiance who loves the color purple. The
yarn is a lot more purpley than they appear here. I wound up actually
buying this yarn and the LYS near our home and it's not bad so far.
I
didn't work on any other projects although my stash was quite
ambitious. I think next time I go away I'll just bring up one project
and if I need more yarn I can always get more. This may be the first
project I actually did finish on vacation so that's progress.
