Back when I was a dedicated member of this website, I belonged to several groups based on love and gratitude. I have said a few times lately, that I was going to reset my mindset, and get back into being actively thankful, instead of just passively accepting.
So, on this 10th anniversary of the horror that was 9/11/01, I am reminded to be grateful for (at least) the following:
![]()
1. My children. I have three natural born sons and an almost-step-son, and my life would be empty without them.
2. My SO. This is actually OUR anniversary as well, but we chose to celebrate on the 12th. The feeling of his arms around me in the middle of the night is one of the most comforting sensations I have ever been priveledged enough to experience.
3. Food, water, shelter. In the wake of an earthquake, a hurricane, flooding, a few tropical storms, I am especially thankful for that which we normally take for granted.
4. My job. I teach English to 9th and 10th graders, which is often cahllenging, and I love (almost) every minute of it. It is such a blessing to go to a job you love instead of one you dread (and Lord knows, I have had them).
5. Finally, but certainly not least of all, I am eternally grateful to those heros who risked and gave their lives on 9/11. Thank you. As it was so eloquently stated ten years ago, "Let's roll".
Thanks for taking the time to read this.
