Things have been really rough for us financially lately and today we got our power shut off! Having one working parent is so not working for htis home and yet bringing it up to my husband sends him into a depressive funk because he's not able to support our fmaily on his own. He has the very traditional male outlook that he should be providing for our family so that I can stay home with our daughter but I'm at my wits end, hiding from landlords, dealing with no power etc. I just don't know what to do! I've been looking for part-time or evening work for awhile now but haven't found anything.

I'm sorry. How about Babysitting in your home or working in a daycare that will let you bring your children? Even if you only watched one child in your home you could probably bring in about $100 or more a week. If you wanted to work at home you could read this and see if you can find anything of interest (just remember WAH jobs NEVER make YOU pay to get the job)

Did you know that the Salvation Army will help with Electric (utility) payments, also United Way and Social Services usually have programs too. Additionally, local Churches will help and at Social Services they should be able to give you a list of other help organizations.

If your Husband is working a 40 hour work week there is NO shame in not being able to make enough money (times are tough for a lot of people)...although, he could ask for overtime or take on a part-time job until you all can get caught up. Good Luck!
