Mind Wonderings of an Adoptive Mom-To-Be

frustratedNo really, the God's are against me this week.  I started out trying to go to my folks last weekend.  Friday I had two interviews, both of which I thought went well, a flat tire, running to two time zones and still got my kid to school on time.  But by Friday night, it was raining and my throat was killing me.  DH is on a work assignment in Pennsylvania.  I cancel my trip to see my folks (they are disappointed) and I am in bed by 8:00 AM.  Thankfully the little one is tired too.

DH drives the 5+ hours home to take care of me but is so exhausted he ends of sleeping all day Saturday.  Thankfully the Little One's poppi (grandpa) asked to take her for the day--a big relief to me since I was ill.  I get a doctor's appointment but not with my normal guy but the on-call doc.  Not strep although it looks like it.  Some "throat virus."  No antibiotics but pain medicine that helps a little.  Following days have me sick as a dog but doing my Mommy thing.

Little One is cranky for a few days after spending the day with Poppi.  He gave her pop and let her do what ever she wanted.  Which is what a grandparent should do right?  But then it throws her out of wack and I spend the next few days trying to get her back on track.  We plan to go see my folks this upcoming weekend and my brother and his new fiance will be there too so we'll get to see them as well.

She starts getting little red bumps on her ankles and shoulders.  Now I think it is flea bites because just a few days earlier we discover fleas on the dogs.  While I'm sick I spend days trying to clean and sanitize and wash all the dog bedding ans spray down all the furniture too.

But the next day she has more red bumps on her arms then her legs and today on her back, her stomach, her face and her butt.  I think "OH CRAP" this isn't flea bites.

We get into the doctor (not our own but an on-call guy) who I am relieved to say tells me "Well it isn't Chicken Pox," to which I just burst out laughing--chicken pox never crossed my mind.  Then I ask about flea bites or possible bed bugs, or allergic reaction to soap or something?  He says he is 100% sure it isn't bed bug bites--apparently those are nasty, and 95% sure it isn't fleas although he can see where I thought it might be.  A viral rash.  Okay, what the heck does that mean???  Could be an allergic reaction to something or she could have picked up a virus from someone and it is manifesting itself in form of a bodily rash in my daughter.

Okay, now I feel like crap because if she picked up a virus it could have been from me since the other doctor couldn't tell me what I really had or at pre-school.  Bottom line:  keep up the allergy medication, steriod ointment for her body and no school until it starts to clear up.  She's bummed because tomorrow is her first time having "School Pictures" taken and she has to miss it.  There will be a make up day but still missing it with her class.

On top of that, one interview said I did not have the killer instinct to rent cars.  Bummer.  But I have a 2nd interview tomorrow with the other company.  But now, I have a sick kid and no babysitter for the interview.  UGH!

And on top of that we have water in the basement and I'm not sure where the heck it is coming from  God's are against me for sure!
