I found a fun way to improve writing skills!

I recently discovered a fun and free tool to improve my writing! I have been using it daily for nearly a month and I have already seen improvement in my writing!

What have I gained?

My speed is improving, my typos are reduced, and I am able to come up with ideas faster making it easier to write from scratch! I used to really dread sitting down to type out a post when I was in a time crunch – when I knew I had to publish a post either that day or the next and I had nothing lined up yet…you know how that goes. Obviously the ideal is to have a bunch of posts lined up so that doesn’t happen but the ideal isn’t always the reality.

How does it work?

Every day as soon as you are logged in you are taken to your private, blank page for the day. Once there the timer starts and you start typing. You just type what comes to mind without regard to typos or anything, just type.  Nobody is going to see it so perfection doesn’t matter.

At first I had a difficult time not going back to fix my errors. I had a hard time letting go of the need to have everything looking just right. I found that as a result my typos actually became less over time because I knew that I wasn’t going to go back to fix anything. It slowed down my typing speed temporarily but that too has improved.
