A lot has happened since I was last here. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and was put on disability (SSI). My husband went through a three year bout of unemployment and finally got a minimum wage job that didn't pay enough for us to survive on. After getting sick from the stress and lack of utilities in our place and facing the imminent threat of homelessness, we separated and I moved in with my daughter and her two room mates. It was an extremely difficult time for us and heartbreaking after 30 years of marriage.

A year later my daughter and I moved into our own apartment that we share the cost of. We really love our place and we've been here a year now. I have started my own knitting and crocheting online business and she works in retail. We have a studio set up for her art and I have a needlecraft area. In the year since leaving my husband my health has steadily improved. I am no longer in a wheelchair and am a lot more active. I cook and clean again and we have friends and family visit often, something my husband wasn't able to tolerate. I bought a violin and have started playing it again (I used to play it when I was in high school many years ago). I have a little dog that is papered as an emotional support dog that shares our apartment with us.

I look forward to getting involved with Cafemom again!
