I completed the first pair of socks from the Socktopus book, Shur'tugal, and I really like it. I started it using Sanguine Gryphon's Eidos in an unnamed colorway that was a bit busy and I was afraid the gorgeous pattern wouldn't show up. I thought about tearing it down several times but continued on and I'm glad I did.

They really are quite lovely. They're comfortable and fit perfectly. The pattern calls for a 1.5 dpn but I used size two. I learned to do a left twist so not only was it a fun knit but educational too! The only thing I changed was the toe. I did the usual toe that I always do just because it was a bit easier to do. I think I'll be making one of my sister's a pair of these because I do like them so much. I'm currently working on a pair of Skyp socks in Shelridge Farm Soft Touch Heather in charcoal. This pattern is a fall back pattern for me because it's easy and looks really nice. The only worry I have is working in such a dark yarn because I'm afraid the pattern won't be discernible but so far it's looking great.
