May you receive more and more covenant grace and peace in the Name of our Lord Jesus Christ the Anointed Savior!

"Behold, how good and pleasant it is  when brothers dwell in unity! It is like the precious oil on the head, that ran down on the beard, Even Aaron's beard; that came down on the edge of his robes! It is like the dew of Mount Hermon, which falls on the mountains of Zion! For there the LORD has commanded the blessing, life forevermore" (Psalm 133:1-3). This is a picture of what it is like when the body of Christ as a whole is submitted to the Lord Jesus and comes together in unity and agreement. The anointing flows from the Head to every part of the body!

This picture is also true for each individual church. God anoints the pastor, and He intends for that anointing to flow to every member of the congregation. Remember that the anointing is the powerful Presence of God that removes every burden and destroys every yoke (Isaiah 10:27). In order for the anointing to flow as described in Psalm 133, every part of the body - every person - must be in the right place.

"For as the body is one and has many parts, and all the parts of that body, though many, are one body, so also is Christ. For we were all baptized by one Spirit into one body, whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free, and we were all made to drink of one Spirit. So the body is not one part but many. If the foot should say, 'Because I'm not a hand, I don't belong to the body,' despite this it still belongs to the body. And if the ear should say, 'Because I'm not an eye, I don't belong to the body,' despite this it still belongs to the body. If the whole body were an eye, where would the hearing be? If the whole body were an ear, where would be the sense of smell? But now God has placed the parts, each one of them, in the body just as He wanted. And if they were all the same part, where would the body be? Now there are many parts, yet one body. So the eye cannot say to the hand, 'I don't need you!' nor again the head to the feet, 'I don't need you!' " (1 Corinthians 12:12-21). It is easy to understand how this analogy of the human body applies to the body of Christ.

When one part is not functioning or is out of place it affects the entire body. Imagine if the eye wanted to be a hand. What if the eye said, "The hand always gets to touch stuff and I never get to touch anything. All I ever get to do is look. I want to touch stuff like the hand does." What if the ear said, "I never get to see anything. All I ever do is hear. I want to be an eye." Imagine if other parts of the body did the same thing - complaining and wanting to be something that they are not designed to be. Now imagine if God said, "OK all you body parts. Whatever you think you want to be, be it. Whatever you think you want to do, do it. Wherever you think you want to be, go there." That would be a freak!

"God has set each one of the members in the body just as He pleased" (1 Corinthians 12:18). Whatever God has called you to be, He is pleased for you to be that. Whatever God has called you to do, He is pleased for you to do that. Wherever God has called you to be, He is pleased for you to be there.
