Valentine's Day is just around the corner! Many of you are looking for original gift ideas and sentiments to express Happy Valentines, to the love of your life. Whether it's for your husband, significant other or the important man in your life, and it may be your goal to top what you did last year.

Many people will flood the seasonal isle at Walmart, looking for that box of chocolates, teddy bear, maybe even a bottle of wine; before making dinner reservations at your fancy restaurant of choice. Perhaps all of the above along with jewelry and a heartfelt card.

While these gifts can be given to a man or a woman, there's one gift that you can give to your man, or better yet- it's one that he can give himself if you make the suggestion. Be it man or woman making the appointment with the Master Groomer, it's something that all men should consider.

How will you show up for the occasion? How would you like to see him show up for the occasion? Answer: a total makeover that starts with the grooming.

When looking for the answer to - the right thing to do - considering everything above the neck, I looked to Marvin Church aka MarvTheBarb, Celebrity Master Groomer, Consultant & Editor. The Leader of Era of the Gentlemen. Because every woman falls in love with a fine-tuned man, who gives attention to his physical appearance. I had the pleasure of running into, and meeting Marvin in Vegas, almost two years ago; as we were both out there working on projects surrounding the Mayweather and Canelo fight. In our initial contact, his drive and passion for his craft was immediately conveyed. Upon further research, I found him to be a true success in his profession. With that being said, there was no better person to consult with for men grooming, other than Mr. Marvin Church. When asked, here's what he had to say:

It's obvious that you are married to your craft, as you have perfected the art of manscaping. How would you describe your work?

I would describe my work as lifestyle grooming.  I offer a full service grooming experience to very unique individuals.

What is a master barber- what's the differed from a regular barber?

The difference is a master barber can teach and train an apprentice with work hours under their guidance to receive qualifying hours to be certified as a barber. Master barbers are now in many states and are designated managers of barbershop.

Barbers can qualify to take their master barbers test after 2 years. Most barbers are booth renters or on work commission while the master barbers manage the shop.

If there's any problems with a client or any other barbershop issues the master barber is trained and skilled enough to resolve most situations.

What services do you provide?

I provide full and exclusive services including grooming consultations, haircuts, shaves, color, chemical services and facials.

Every artist usually has a happy place they go to when performing. What's yours?

I am most content when I have intense focus. I have what's called barber's vision where I'm able to see at least 4 haircuts on mostly everybody. I start with the basics and create the desired haircut along the way.  When I am focused I have a picture that I have to get out of my head. I have a lot of respect for the craft and take it very seriously.

Why is this important?

Well sometime when you are in your zone, you find yourself being one with the implements.  You become instrumentally sound like a machine. It's like going for 50 points every day. When you're at this level it's not work anymore, it's your passion.

What makes you unique?

I've been cutting my hair since I was nine and other people shortly thereafter.  I come from both sides of the chair. Professionally, my unique approach to detail and technique is what keeps me consistently booked.

What or who inspires you?

I'm inspire by like-minded individuals who are about their craft. If you are about putting out a good effort without any excuses, I'm inspired. I grew up with my father who had five kids, worked 35 years and retired. Didn't make any excuses. I've watched my two grandfathers who retired and continues with their own businesses afterward. I grew up with the intention to be like them because that's how I thought it was supposed to be. They all inspired me to do everything I've done in my life. That inspiration was the reason that I created my own product line HARRY JAMES; which is designed for men's grooming.

What are some things that men need to know regarding attention to self?

If you don't know something research to find the answer. Keep an open mind when it comes to self. Don't be afraid to step outside of the norm and be inspired to try new things. Whether it's grooming facial hair, getting a haircut or creating a new face regimen, the final judge is you and your love ones.

You are a man who looks upon the female opinion as valuable and would heed her advice and instruction when it comes to how she would like to see you. How can women encourage their man to groom?

Most women look to find a barbershop or barber spa to send their man. Buy a gift certificate and make the appointment so that he has no excuses to not show up. While he is receiving and enjoying his service feel free to ask the retailer questions regarding service and how he can maintain this regimen at home. Buy him new grooming tools (men like gifts too). Most men want to be pampered but don't know how to go about communicating it or finding the space for it. Compliment your man, tell him how great he looks. Men will be more inspired to maintain a particular look when they are complimented on it.  Your man would thankful and you will reap the benefits. (Men love to be pampered too)!

You have an impressive resume. Tell me about your clientele.

My clientele consists of professionals, politicians, celebrities, athletes and just hard working people who want to look and feel good about themselves.

You have been pretty vocal in allowing your work to speak for itself, but at the same time, you have wisdom beyond years to share. What message would you like to send to all those out there who will read this to find an answer, some kind of solution or remedy to life, goals and success.

"Life is a journey and along the way there are bumps and bruises. In time they heal leaving their little mark to remind you what you've been through. We wake up and keep pushing on. With each day we grow, we learn new things about ourselves and others around us. With that growth we find out life is a blessing. It is a blessing to be able to share my gift of grooming. Whether you are at the top of your profession or taking care of home we all are here for a reason. We all are part of this world's big stage play." -Marvin Church AKA Marv the Barb, "Personal Image Is Everything"
