California Waiting

I am visiting my parents in the High Sierras in northern California.  We are in the mountains half way between Sacramento and Lake Tahoe and this truly is God's country.  The weather has been hovering around 80, everything is green and it feels good to be alive.

They want us to move out here when Vinnie gets out of the Army.  Problem is, his whole family (including two daughters) lives in about a 5 mile area in and around Johnstown, PA.  We had planned to move out there when we got out.  He knows I'd rather be here, and for various reasons, I think it would be a much better place to live for our daughters.  The economy is better here, and there are many, many more jobs for somebody in his field.  I guess we have three years to make up our minds.

Also, my folks live in an area where they can only get DIAL UP service.  Oy.  I'm growing old waiting for pages to load.  And with three of us waiting for online time, I'm not getting much of a chance to visit Cafe Mom.  I'd just joined before I left, I love it, and I'm getting withdrawals.  However, I have been updating my web page every night.  The address is http://www.boyerville.com, should anybody care to visit.  I update the "Today I..." blog daily.

I'm making kebabs and pineapple pork fried rice for dinner, and I need to get back out in the kitchen.  I'll be back around when I get the next chance.

May. 11, 2007 at 10:23 AM That is a beautiful picture.I love nature pictures that look untouched by man, it looks so peaceful.I've never heard of pineapple pork fried rice. It sounds yummy:)
