an ear full (Hellooooo...NEWman)

Yesterday evening- just as the "smartcarpet" man arrived at my house(me want pergo!) complete bedlam errupted in this place!
The baby was screaming-full blast! Dog barking, 2 year old was tearing apart our video collection-but someone was very,very quiet.
Quiet in these parts is very worrying.
I decided to shrug it off and continue my consultation w/ Mr. Smartcarpetman (a.k.a Mr. Personality)who didn't bring samples and kept complaining about how far away he had to come to get here. Yeah, we hit it off swell!
So,while he was writing an estimate, my 3 year old (the one that was quiet)comes in and tells me that something is in his ear, I am like "really?" and I shrug him off thinking he is going through that "theres a bird in my ear" routine we usually do when I want to clean his ears. He disappears, then comes in frantically shouting "get it out, get it out!" I excuse myself from Mr.Smartcarpetman who glares at me., and go into the bathroom to take a looksee-and there it is.....
















My 3 year old had been in my newly decorated bedroom where I had just put a new flower arrangement that had these berry branches w/ teeny peach colored styrofoam berries. He had shoved one of the "berries" into his ear. Way into his ear.
I could hardly see it and didn't want to push it further in.
So, I went back into the kitchen where Mr.Smartcarpet was sitting and told him what had happened-HE DID NOT EVEN ACKNOWLEDGE ME! he was like"so, do you want your estimate"- "Its going to be $4500.00"(for 250 sq feet!) I am like:" I can get hardwood for half of that w/ install! BUh-BYE!"
So I call the PED and they are closing- I beg them to wait for me but since I live in the boondocks it will take me 45 mins to get there and they aren't feeling that. So I have to go to the E.R which is like $100.00 and this is the 3rd time in 2 months!(boys!)
I go there, wait an eternity and finally we see the dr.
he is like "there is nothing in there"
me: "other ear"
then he says" I think its a growth, its flesh colored"
I explain about the berries being peach, and he leaves the room to get another dr.-oy vey!
So the other dr comes in w/ this long metal thing (SCARY!)
and the nurse practically lays on Santino, who is screaming by this point-
and they pull it out.
poor kid-he was hysterical! his ear was even bleeding a bit.
so, he has a bit of swelling and we have to put some antibiotic drops in there, but all is well now.
Ah, motherhood-never a dull moment!

You can't make this stuff up!

Mr.Smartcarpet looked exactly like Neuman from Seinfeld- I opened the door and said-"Hello...NEWman"-Do you think that ticked him off?
