Question: When did you start potty training your kids? (if you have more than 1 kid then average age for all is okay)

OK so my 18 month old is all of a sudden interested in the potty big time so I tried to dig out my potty seat from when my older kids trained. You know the kind that make the opening on the big potty small enough for their little bottoms. Well, I could not find it so I decided to finally use the one my MIL had passed down to us from her kids. I know my SIL trained on it, but I am not sure about my hubby. I think so since he is the youngest, but maybe not. Anyway, it is a wooden chair with the part the baby sits on and the plastic bowl that catches the pee and poop being the only plastic on it. I cleaned it and repaired it and now she is using it. Anyway, that was on 5/9 in the afternoon. Well, 5/10 in the early afternoon or late morning and right before bedtime, she actually peed on it. She had gotten on it several times during the day, but those were the only successes. I am surprised since I was not trying nor really ready to begin potty training her. She just turned 18 months on 5/5 and so I figured she was too young. She talks a lot, but she also loves to say "NO!". So she will say potty and you say "You wanna go potty?" and she replies "no", but while running towards the bathroom. It is confusing, but oh well. I am not gonna push her to potty train, but I will encourage her curiosity. I have heard that when a new baby comes into the house that often potty trained kids can regress. I am having a baby in Aug so I hope that is not true. My mom told me that I didn't regress when my brother was born. He is 2 yrs younger than me and I self led my potty training at 18 months so maybe she is following in mama footsteps, but she will only be 21 months when my baby is born. Anyway. I just thought I would share her big triumph!!

i started potty training when my daughter was 16 months old. but, only once a day. Now she is 21 months and i take her at least twice the day and the babysitter does the rest while i'm at school.

My twins are almost done with potty training and they'll be two in a week and a half! I waited the longest with them because I wanted to make sure it stuck. My older three were 20 mo, 22mo, and 21mo when they were finished. I know each one was different, and when they were ready they were ready!
