I love to read about the different nick names some parents give their children. Do you have a funny story or a cute nick name you have given your child or maybe your parents gave you? Write to me and tell me your story. I would love to hear it.

Thanks, Carol

My kids have approximately 1 million nicknames each :)

Tayler- when she was young it was Tater or Tater Tot, then noodle, now that she's older and more easily embarrassed Laughing it's just Tay. Sometimes I can still get away with Lovey. Or Taylerooni if I'm feeling particularly goofy.

Taryn- Boppy, Bop-bop, or Taryn Bop. Sometimes banana but not so much now that she knows what a banana is and cries for one when I call her this.

I have no idea why I insist on calling my kids by food names.

I catch myself calling my 14 month old son "Poop Scoop" ( no joke!!!) When he was younger ( about 7months old) he would knock over the diapar pail and crawl in it!!! I go what are you a Poop Scoop???

My son Zack has so many nicknames cause its not hard to rhyme words with the name zack. His very first nickname after birth was Mr Mcgoo because he was only  4.5lbs  and his skin was all wrinkley and when his eyes were shut especially he looked like Mr Mcgoo. But my favorite one is the one his dad gave him in the car the day we were bringing him home, he called him zack of potatoes cause he weighed less then a sack of potatoes-or tators and that name stuck and all our friends in our neighborhood would  refer to him as that nickname, than a little later down the road he got the name zack attack because when you put him up to your face he would always try to put his mouth over your nose like he was attacking it. Those were the best ones hes had so far.

We call my 4 year old Roo b/c when he was born, my 2 year old loved watching Pooh Bear and Friends. When we brought him home she wanted to hold him all the time and I told her she couldn' t b/c he was really little and she said, "like roo"? And I said yes so she started calling him roo and it stuck.  Sometimes I call him my little skunk. That's because he goes around pooting all the time so I told him he's cute and stinky just like a little skunk.  We call my six year old Lacey, Ladybug. I don't know why, we just do.
