I have been reading all the journal posts about moms needing a break from the monkeys in our homes. For a while I would whole heartedly agree with you raising children is one of the hardest jobs out there, we parents are not just here to feed and bath our children, we are preparing them for their futures. I have a 5 year old boy and a four year old boy and a 17m old girl, and my hubby and I are both working full time to get out of debt and still manage to support our family. I gotta tell you, even with all the pictures of my family on my desk its still not enough, I miss my kids more then anything and my hubby too, I feel like there just isn't enough time in the day for all the hugs and all the love and all the things I feel like I need to be teaching them before my oldest starts kindergarten this coming September. Children are difficult at every age, and as they get older the problems only get bigger, if only they gave moms extra arms and extra eyes for each child born then it might be a little easier, though at the same time every age is so beautiful and fascinating. I love seeing all the different things that really excite my children and all the new things they are learning, and how fast they are learning. When I drop the kids off with their Nana and Grumpy for the day while we are at work my baby girl blows me a kiss and says "bye!" as I walk out the door, and it makes me feel so loved and important when I pick her up at the end of the day and shes beyond exciting screaming "HI!" "Hi!" over and over giving big hugs. I miss my time with my kids when they are away, and I have to remind myself when we are all home and I'm feeling stressed that these are the moments I'm going to miss the most, and so I have to make the effort to enjoy every second good and bad spent with my three little monkeys always jumping on their beds :) A little helpful advice to all you stay at home moms understandable at wits end, crank up your favorite toons and ask the kiddos to help you clean the house, ask them to make a pile of the dirty laundry for you to wash, bring all dishes to the kitchen for you to wash, pick up all their toys, and throw away any trash, simple tasks they can do to feel helpful while you all rock out and dance (also a great workout for everyone to get some energy out). When the house is clean and the music stops, pop in a movie or settle the kids for a quiet activity and treat yourself to what every mother dreams about, a hot relaxing bubble bath. Try not to sweat the little things (don't cry over spilled milk ya know) and cherish your kiddos while they still look up to us and love us more then life itself.
