SHAQUAN'S 18 MONTH CHECK-UP

SO, THURSDAY  Shaquan had his 18 month check-up (he's a year and a half already!!).  I couldn't wait to see how much this kid has grown since the beginning of this year. 

I thought he was going to be over 30 pounds. I had stuck shaquan on the scales at my dads two weeks ago, and it said 31 pounds.  But he's only 25 pounds and like 10 ounces.  Which he's still in the 50 percentile of kids his age.  And I also thought that he would be way taller than last time.  He was 32 and 3/4 inches tall.  So he's only grown like an inch or so from last time.  He looks so tall to me.  And even tho that seems like not very much, it is.  Especially considering that is only like 3 months time that he's grown.  His heighth is almost in the 75 percentile. 

The doctor said everything was okay.  He was developing perfect.  He was even flirting with her when she was shining the light in his eyes to check them.  winking and raising the eyebrows.  I swear my kids the biggest flirt i have ever seen.  His eyes are looking pretty much even, as far as the droopy eyelid that he has.  i can't even tell sometimes that it's different. So the eye patches seem to be working.   His talking is great for his age.  He talks more than some babies his age.  On  the paper they gave me, it says he should be saying about 10 words.  This kid is saying a different word a day. 

He only had one shot this time! yay!  but this one hurt pretty bad.  they had to put some numbing spray on it, so it wouldn't hurt so bad.  But it was for Hepatitis A.  He screamed and cried for about half a second. 

So everything with Shaquan is great!  He's a healthy and extremely happy baby! 

And we don't have to back for anything until he's TWO!! THANK GOODNESS!!!
