Emma turned 3 on Sunday! What a day of fun. We kept it quiet because she's really too young for a "kiddie" party and too old for a big family gathering. But Emma's birthday brings back alot of memories of her birth. My pregnancy was difficult with Emma. At 22 weeks, they found my cervix opening and rushed me to the hospital to put a stitch in my cervix and put me on strict bedrest. I lasted until 27 weeks with Emma when she suddenly came into this world. What a miracle she is.
Today, she couldn't be more perfect and we often reflect on how truly blessed we are. Before having Emma I was a legal secretary for around 15 years. I hated it! It was always my dream to be a stay at home mom (crazy, right?) but now my dream has become a reality. I also volunteer for the March of Dimes which is a true passion because without this wonderful organization, my Emma would not be with us today.
We live on beautiful Long Island, NY out east and it's a beautiful place (albeit very expensive). My husband, Matt, teaches at the local university and while he works very long hours, our family is complete. I would love another child but due to my problems the first time around, it's highly unlikely.
I'm new to CafeMom and would love to hear from all of you out there!
Hugs to All!
