My son is two...90% of the time he sleeps all the way through the night. On occasion, when he is sick, or has a bad dream, or needs a drink or something he will wake up. We recently turned his crib into a toddler bed...which means he can get out on his own and come to our bedroom. Last night he did not want to sleep....? When I put him to bed he kept getting up and coming into where I was sitting...finally a couple of hours later he stopped getting out of bed and fell asleep. We went to bed at about 10:30 or so...and by midnight he was wondering around the house and came into our room. I put him back to bed. Then again a little bit later, and then again, and again....and so on. He just would not stay asleep? I dont know what the problem was, but I am pretty tired today. I dont think I got more than an hour and a half of sleep before he would wake up again. Then When my hubby left for work I couldnt get back to sleep...Undecided

Has this ever happened to anyone?

Jan. 23, 2007 at 1:31 PM did you just convert over to the toddler bed? Maybe he was more secure with the crib, now he feels free just getting out and wandering around. Maybe if you put up a gate at his doorway you can sleep a little better knowing he won't be wandering around the house at night. He can call for you or use can use the baby monitor to hear for him if he does get up. How about the gates that you can put on the bed? The ones that keep him from falling out of the bed? You probably have one of those already, but that might make him feel more secure and he will stay in the bed. You are doing great to have him already sleeping in his own bed. It might take a little time for him to get use to the new bed! I hope I helped a little!

Jan. 24, 2007 at 12:13 PM I have so been there!  Getting ready to do it again with Jaxon.  With Max, I would just keep putting him back in bed when he got up.  I kept a gate up, so that he could only go to my room or his.  After about a week or two he started staying in his bed.
