Is he trying to push me over the edge

My 12 yr old I swear is trying to get me to yell at him and punish him. He was doing great today and then had to mouth off over everything and do the opposite of everything that was needed. I wanted to kill him today. The worst part is he knows I am trying to quit smoking and is getting mouthier now.

Jun. 16, 2007 at 4:32 PM Join the club my 14 has begun doing that to me too.  I am told I have begun raising my voice to everyone.  He just wants to argue with me about everything. He knows that the outcome is more chores and less getting to go out with friends.  He just doesn't really care and continues to push my buttons.  Can we freeze them until they reach adulthood and then throw them out?  I wish I had the money to send him to military school.
