I am only a mother, just like you. We have our differences and our similarities. We may not all be married or in a relationship, working or a homemaker... but we are sisters, united in the blessing of motherhood.
Like all siblings, we may disagree sometimes. Our opinions may not be the same. We may feel strongly about our feelings and may get emotional. But please remember, sister: Disagree with me if you will, but RESPECT my right to form my own opinions. Know that I am an intelligent woman and have my reasons to feel the way I do. By respecting me and being able to disagree without namecalling, harassment and threats of violence, you are showing me the world what a good person you are. Imagine what your children would think if they saw you doing so well. They would be so proud, to have someone as such a good example. In turn they will grow up respecting others. Proving you are indeed a fantastic mother, even if your views are different than mine. We can both raise our children to be productive members of society and be good parents and people themselves.
My sister, if I disagree with you, I promise I will always give you my honest opinion but I will be RESPECTFUL about it. I find no joy in harming you emotionally and no disagreement -no matter how serious- would fuel malicious behavior from me. By telling you how I feel but respecting your right to your opinion, I am a better person and I know I will pass that strength on to those around me and most importantly, my children.
Sister, we may disagree sometimes, but I never want animosity between us. Lets remember always to RESPECT eachother, ok?
Love,
Rita
