Well we went to OHSU for Matthew's Autism evaluation. It started at 8:45 am. We first met with the Speech Therapist. Matthew was resistant to the testing but I think he did well. They brought in a psychologist, an OT and developmental pediatrician. We has to go back to the beginning from Pregnancy to his first diagnosis in Virginia. There were 3 questionaires I had to fill out. It was really exhausting but these were there findings. He re-received his diagnosis of Autistic Disorder(High Functioning). He need at least 20-25 hours per week of direct intervention. He should continue to receive Special Education Services at School. They suggest several support groups. We are also going to look into a high resolution chromosom study and a FISH study for chromosome 15 duplication. He will continue in the follow-along program offered at the CDRC Autism Clinic. I also was adviced to contact the Social Security Administration regarding eligiblity and the County Developmental Disabilites Program to see if he qualifies for a case worker. These program could assist him when he is older for support, job placement things like that. Overall it was good experience. We discussed some issue he has been having with his feet which actually are caused by his hips and a possible reflux problem. I am very impressed with Doerenbecher and their facility.
